Founded in 1960, PRSA Counselors Academy is dedicated to providing principals and senior leaders of small and mid-sized public relations firms in the United States and Canada with the business insight and tools they need to grow successful businesses, counsel clients and lead their teams. About the 2016 Spring Conference

The annual spring conference is Counselors Academy’s largest event, attracting up to 200 senior-level agency executives. In addition to Counselors Academy members, attendees at the annual conference include sole practitioners, new and emerging leaders and practitioners from related industries such as event planning, digital communications, advertising and marketing. Attendees come to the conference to connect with other senior counselors and share new ideas and concepts they can immediately put into practice in the workplace. The Counselors Academy Selection Committee welcomes proposals from public relations firm principals and senior leaders, as well as experts in relevant disciplines including, but not limited to, accounting, consulting, human resources, benefits and compensation and legal.

Since the majority of conference attendees are owners and senior executives of small to mid-size firms, the most successful speakers:

Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate strong speaking and audience motivation.


Priority will be given to proven speakers whose proposals are visionary, forward-thinking and relevant to today’s senior practitioners. Conference attendees are particularly interested in the following subjects:

Accepted Speakers and Proposals: Potential Actions

The Counselors Academy Selection Committee reserves the right to request potential speakers’ participation in general panel sessions in lieu of their proposed session. Some sessions may be recorded.

Presented Sessions Following Conference

Speaker presentations will be collected and made available to conference attendees and Counselors Academy members after the conference. Handouts are appreciated and will be posted online.

Speaker Expenses and Compensation

PRSA does not pay for expenses, such as hotel and airfare, nor offer speaker stipends. Speakers who are selected for expert breakout presentations will receive one complimentary registration, which does not include meals or networking events. Presenters will have the option to purchase a meal package. Roundtable leaders and “ignite” presenters wishing to attend the conference will be required to pay the members-only rate.
