Beyond Compliance: Inclusive Digital Communications in Practice

Sept. 30 and Oct 1, from 3-5 p.m. EDT

For communications professionals, accessibility isn’t just a legal requirement; it’s a reflection of your values and your brand.

This four-hour interactive virtual workshop is designed specifically for those working in communications, marketing and PR who want to create digital content that works for everyone.

We’ll go beyond the basics of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to explore how accessibility strengthens message clarity, audience reach and trust. Through practical exercises, real-world examples and open discussion, you’ll learn how to embed accessibility into your content strategy, social media, email campaigns and more, without sacrificing creativity or efficiency.

We’ll help you move from checking boxes to making inclusion a foundational part of your communications practice.

By the end of this workshop, communications professionals will be able to:

  • Understand how the ADA applies to digital communications including web content, email, social media and public-facing documents.
  • Identify common accessibility barriers in digital content, and know how to address them using plain language, alt text, video captions and other inclusive practices.
  • Communicate the value of accessibility to internal and external stakeholders, reframing it as a strategic advantage rather than a legal burden.
  • Apply inclusive design principles across communication channels, ensuring content is accessible, engaging and usable by the broadest possible audience.
