The Power of Voice is more than simply being heard.
Public relations and communications can not only increase awareness of higher education outcomes, but also influence attitudes and values needed to sustain it as a critical mobilizer of society.
Read through these guidelines carefully to ensure your proposal meets the criteria.
PRSA Counselors to Higher Education (CHE) invites proposals for the annual CHE Leadership Summit 2023, October 13-14, in Nashville. Proposals should identify one of the three strategic pillars in the PRSA 2023-25 Strategic Plan:
Presentations should address one or more of the following dimensions of “voices” in higher education:
All ideas suitable to the theme, “Power of Voice,” are welcome, and we have a special interest in the following topics and themes:
Please keep the number of proposed presenters to no more than three (or three plus a moderator for panels). Ideal presentations are 30-40 minutes in duration with time for questions and answers with the audience. First-time presenters are welcome and encouraged! Agencies and non-higher education professionals are required to co-submit with a college or university.

- Evolve
Presentations should address one or more of the following dimensions of “voices” in higher education:
- Institutional
- Leadership
- Student
- Faculty
- Employee
- Alumni
All ideas suitable to the theme, “Power of Voice,” are welcome, and we have a special interest in the following topics and themes:
- Promoting the value of higher education
- Selecting and supporting the appropriate spokesperson (president, provost, dean, etc.)
- Advising presidential thought leadership
- (Ghost) Writing for the C-suite
- Managing crisis communications
- Responding through disruption
- Refreshing editorial style for equity and inclusion
- Collaborating on DEI communications
- Standing firm on ethics and authenticity
- Incorporating student perspectives or engaging PRSSA chapters
- Developing student social media teams
- Running student focus groups and employee surveys
- Pitching faculty research
- Promoting staff accomplishments
