PRSA Announces Strategic Leadership Transitions to Support Organizational Growth and Operational Efficiency

Jun. 23, 2025

NEW YORK, June 23, 2025 – PRSA, the leading professional organization serving the communications community, is announcing a series of strategic staff transitions aimed at aligning the organization for long-term sustainability and growth.

This restructure aligns with PRSA's strategic plan and vision. PRSA is committed to recognizing in-house talent, and new roles are being added to support the organization's growth into the future.

As part of this transition, Jeneen Garcia has been promoted to Chief Programs Officer, where she will lead a newly unified Programs & Events team. Nearly 30 years ago, Garcia began her career at PRSA and has served in several strategic roles, including Assistant Director for the PRSA Counselors Academy and Technology Sections, Vice President of Education, Executive Director of PRSSA and Senior Vice President of Programming.

PRSA has also appointed a new Chief Communications Officer, Linda Beltran, who joins the organization with extensive experience in strategic communications, media relations and reputation management. She most recently held the position of Vice President of Corporate Communication for Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Beltran will lead strategic communications, brand positioning and stakeholder engagement efforts as the organization moves forward in implementing its vision.

PRSA has announced the departure of Philip Bonaventura, who served as Chief Financial Officer. The organization thanks him for his many years of dedicated service and leadership.

In the interim, Lynne Pratt, a Senior Advisor with O’Connell Consulting and former Chief Financial Officer of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, has been appointed Interim Finance & Operations Leader, effective Monday, June 23. Pratt brings more than two decades of executive experience and will lead a comprehensive assessment of PRSA’s operations and financial systems. Recruitment for a permanent Chief Operating Officer (COO) is now underway.

PRSA has also begun recruiting for a Vice President of Business Development & Alliances to lead partnership engagement and sponsorship growth. This new position reflects the organization’s commitment to building sustainable revenue channels and cultivating deeper external relationships that support PRSA’s mission.

In addition, a new Senior Director of Chapter & Section Support position has been created to better serve PRSA’s national network of Chapters and Professional Interest Sections. These updates are part of a broader, organization-wide restructuring that includes adjustments across all levels of the staff team to ensure alignment with strategic goals and increased value for PRSA’s members.

“This new chapter is about building a future-ready PRSA—rooted in operational excellence, member experience and strategic alignment,” said Matt Marcial, CAE, CEO of PRSA. “I’m especially proud to work alongside our new Chief Communications Officer as we both pursue Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), reinforcing our shared commitment to the profession. Together with our leadership team and staff, we’re laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and deeper member impact.”

All leadership transitions are effective immediately.
