Turn Membership Into Meaning: PRSA Goes Pink to Fight Breast Cancer
Oct. 1, 2025
Inaugural collaboration places spotlight on Pinktober and support for the American Cancer Society
NEW YORK (October 1, 2025) – PRSA, the nation’s leading professional organization serving the communications community, today announced a collaboration with the American Cancer Society in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through this initiative, PRSA is empowering members and the broader communications profession to help fuel lifesaving research, patient services, and advocacy programs.
Throughout October, PRSA will contribute 10% of all new membership fees, collected through prsa.org/pinktober, to the American Cancer Society. In addition, current members are encouraged to donate in honor of loved ones impacted by breast cancer, those fighting other forms of cancer, or the memory of family, friends and colleagues whose lives continue to inspire.
“PRSA’s mission has always been about connection — connecting people, ideas and organizations in meaningful ways,” said PRSA CEO Matthew Marcial, CAE. “This partnership with the American Cancer Society not only reflects our commitment to finding new partners and forging new relationships but also underscores how thoughtful and impactful it can be to support such a worthy cause as Pinktober. Together, we can show the power of our profession while standing for something greater than ourselves.”
The campaign, titled Turn Membership Into Meaning: PRSA Goes Pink to Fight Breast Cancer, demonstrates PRSA’s dual commitment: strengthening the public relations profession while supporting a cause that touches millions of families each year.
- New members: 10% of your membership fee will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
- Existing members: Contribute by making a donation in honor of a loved one.
Your membership strengthens the profession. Your support of the American Cancer Society helps save lives. Together, let’s raise awareness, fund critical programs and show the true power of community.
