Pilar De Jesus

Pilar De Jesus is a bilingual (English & Spanish) communications professional who has worked extensively for private and public corporations, manufacturers, local, state and federal government agencies and non-profits. Her career started in Public Relations managing communications and special events for non-profits. She then moved on to work at world-renowned Advertising/Public Relations Agencies as Account Executive for the Puerto Rico market of some of the major consumer brands. Her responsibilities included managing Public Relations, Event Marketing and Promotions.
As Sales, Marketing and Public Relations Officer for the largest Hispanic Bank in the US, Pilar was responsible not only for the internal communications and staff training, but also for the Public Relations and Product Advertising for the US and the British Virgin Islands. It is then, that along with their Ad agency on record, they situated the bank as the local leader in Community Reinvestment Activities for 4 consecutive years. In addition, to strategically develop and manage 24+ award-winning print, television, radio, and mixed media advertising and public relations campaigns, including consumer education ones.
Pilar then expanded her experience as Manager, Communicator and Community Engagement professional for Federal and Municipal governments in northern Colorado. While representing the U.S. Department of Commerce Census 2010 (Colorado) and Census 2020 (Puerto Rico) operations, she engaged communities to respond the decennial census; and in 2010 her office performed among the top 15 offices in her Region. In between Census operations, she reorganized the Marketing Division supporting the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department of a municipality as their internal Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising agency-like, resulting in an increase in department advertising sales and overall community engagement participation.
Pilar is a member of the PRSA-Colorado Chapter and Leadership Northern Colorado Class of 2016.
