Christina Stejskal
Christina Stejskal brings nearly 20 years of PR and communications experience as Vice President of Global Communications at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), the world’s leading guitar and musical instruments manufacturer transforming music history since 1946. In this role, Stejskal oversees all external storytelling on the Fender brand with mainstream media and influencers for both the core business, as well as the brand’s suite of digital products.
Stejskal prides herself in being a culture-obsessed thinker, strategist, narrative-driver, creator and action-taker. She’s quick to assure creativity, innovation and success are met with an executable plan of action and big ideas backed up by quantifiable results. Since joining Fender in 2016, Stejskal held positions as Head of Global Communications, Head of Global Communications, PR and Social Media Strategy, and in 2019, was promoted to Vice President. Her current role involves leading the consumer strategy, vision, PR planning and activities for all outward facing communications on behalf of Fender. In this highly strategic role, she’s heavily focused on brand management, crisis communication and building external relationships with media and influencers, as well as key industry stakeholders and donors in her leadership of the Fender Play Foundation. In 2021, she was honored as a recipient of PR Week’s “Women to Watch” honor.
During her time at Fender, Stejskal has held a leadership role in countless aspects of the marketing department, including PR/communications, social media, product placement and paid media, including digital and print advertising. Her biggest accomplishments have been building an entire PR team from the ground up and bringing mass media recognition to Fender in the lifestyle space. During her tenure at the company, she’s moved the needle elevating Fender’s brand’s leadership and bringing its corporate narrative to life globally. Notable projects include: bringing world-wide recognition to the brand’s suite of digital projects including Fender Songs, and Fender Play, the complete learning app for guitar, bass and ukulele; launching the American Professional flagship electric guitar and bass series; managing communications around strategic partnerships with Hurley, Jose Cuervo, Supreme and HBO’s Game of Thrones; speaking to an audience of female players through stories in Glamour, SheShreds, Cosmopolitan and more; leading execution of the brand's first-ever strategic influencer program across key product and digital category launches; and launching the American Acoustasonic Telecaster, which amplified Fender’s product innovation story to media on a global scale. She also successfully managed a campaign for the brand's youngest signature artist, Grace VanderWaal, and her Signature ukuleles, across PR/comms, social media, email, integrated marketing, digital, CRM and more.
Throughout her career, Stejskal has had the privilege of working with brands across music, luxury, beauty, fashion and technology spaces with an emphasis on strategy, red carpet, talent and brand communications. “One of my specialties is bringing brands outside of their “traditional” space and into a new space, whether it be entertainment or lifestyle,” Stejskal said. Prior to joining FMIC, Stejskal held PR roles at Dan Klores Communications (DKC) for nearly six years in both New York City and Los Angeles, working her way up to Senior Vice President. Her work included brand counseling, strategy development, positioning, and messaging, media relations and celebrity management/integrations. Top clients included iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, Dyson, Jaguar, Land Rover, QVC, BET, New Balance, Vevo, Teva, King (Candy Crush), Mark Hill Haircare, Gwen Stefani brands, Sauza & Hornitos tequila, Parlux fragrances, Jessica Simpson/Rihanna fragrances, Clinique, Delta, ULTA Beauty and more. Prior to DKC, Stejskal also held a variety of entertainment and beauty publicity roles in New York City with PMK*BNC (formerly PMK/HBH) – where she did PR for Motorola and the launch of the RAZR phone and Tractenberg Co.
In her free time, Stejskal is a CrossFit addict, health and fitness enthusiast. When not at work, she enjoys working out, surfing, rock climbing, traveling the world and volunteering for LA-based Angel City Pitbull’s rescue. Obsessed with all things beauty, Stejskal loves trying new products and recommending new skincare brands and treatments to friends.
Stejskal grew up in New Jersey and was raised by German-American parents, quickly becoming fluent in the language. She holds a bachelor of science in advertising and marketing communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology and currently resides in Los Angeles. Her favorite Fender guitar is an American Elite Stratocaster in Sky Burst Metallic.
