Laura Kane, Chief Communications Officer





Laura Kane, PRSA’s first chief communications officer, is an award-winning strategist who has led cross-functional teams to drive innovation, manage complex issues, and develop integrated multi-channel campaigns. She is widely recognized for her ability to develop strong communications programs that influence audiences and drive business results. Laura joined PRSA from Marsh, the global leader in risk management, where she was senior vice president of global media relations and external affairs. Prior to Marsh, Laura served as vice president of corporate communications for Aflac; in this role, she developed and led integrated marketing communications campaigns that helped grow the company’s brand value from $904 million to $3.4 billion. She also developed Aflac’s thought leadership programs focused on ethics and corporate social responsibility to enhance corporate reputation. Laura was part of the team that pioneered Intel’s first mobile website in 2000. As director of multimedia for the ABC Television network, she was instrumental in building ABC’s first website as well as writing its e-commerce business plan. In 2008, she was inducted to the PR News PR Hall of Fame for achievements based on the ability to lead, innovative thinking, and sound judgment. Laura holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, College of Communications Arts and Sciences.
