PRSA National Board of Directors and the National Nominating Committee to Meet in New York in June to Make Selections

The application process is complete with nine PRSA members submitting applications for Executive Officer positions to the Board of Directors, and 20 PRSA members have submitted applications for Director positions to the 2019 Nominating Committee for review and consideration for the PRSA 2020 National Board of Directors.

Candidate Interviews and Selections 

The Board of Directors will choose nominees for open Executive Officer positions during its June 8 meeting in New York.

The Nominating Committee will choose nominees for open director positions during its June 22–23 meeting in New York.

The nominees, along with any petitioned candidates, will be presented for approval at the PRSA Leadership Assembly in San Diego, CA, on Oct. 19, prior to the PRSA 2019 International Conference on Oct. 20-22.

Comments on Behalf of Applicants

On May 6, the PRSA Board and Nominating Committee will begin accepting comments on behalf of applicants. All members of PRSA and other interested individuals may provide comments about applicants via the online comments form. PRSA no longer accepts letters by mail or email. The deadline for submitting comments on behalf of all applicants is Monday, June 3, 11:59 p.m. in the time zone where the comment writer resides.

Candidates by Petition

Article VII, Section 5 of the PRSA Bylaws provides: Nominations may also be made by petition by at least 10 Leadership Assembly delegates and filed with the Secretary of the Society at PRSA Headquarters at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting of the Leadership Assembly, which takes place on Oct. 19. Immediately upon receipt of any such nominations, the Secretary shall send a notice of such nominations to all members.

The 2019 Leadership Assembly will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19. All petitions must be submitted by Wednesday, September 19, 2019 for consideration. The Board and the Nominating Committee deliberations are confidential. Each Committee member signs a confidentiality pledge and agrees that no information about the discussions, deliberations, decisions or votes will be disclosed at any time.
