As we move into June and Pride Month, PRSA continues its commitment to conversations about representation, inclusion and storytelling with a special virtual event hosted by PRSA and the DEI Committee on June 17.

Rewriting the Narrative: LGBTQ+ Content Creators and the Power of Representation” will feature Monica Trasandes, senior director of Spanish language & Latinx media and representation at GLAAD, alongside LGBTQ+ content creators sharing their experiences building community and connection through authentic storytelling.

Founded in 1985, GLAAD has been a leader in advancing LGBTQ+ acceptance through media advocacy and cultural change. This timely conversation will explore the current challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community, how representation shapes public understanding, and the important role communicators play in elevating diverse voices and stories.

Throughout June, PRSA will also offer a range of professional development and educational resources designed to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ population within and beyond the communications profession, while promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, acceptance and advocacy. Available resources include webinars, presentations, toolkits and editorial content across PRSA platforms.

The virtual session takes place on June 17 from 5-6 p.m. ET. We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion.
