Going Independent: Making the Leap from Employee to Business Owner
December 6, 2023 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time)
Do you dream of being your own boss, setting your own schedule and choosing the clients with whom you actually want to work? Those are just some of the many benefits of being an independent practitioner. But what about the reality? Do you have what it takes to launch and grow a thriving business? IPA is here to help you answer those questions!
In this fast-paced and interactive webinar, we’ll cover a wide variety of topics focused on “the business of the business,” giving you the information you need to determine whether “going indie” is right for you and if now is the time to make that leap. You’ll hear from several seasoned practitioners who, whether by force or by choice, made the leap and have navigated uncharted territory to overcome obstacles to build successful indie businesses.
Hosted by IPA Program Chair Wendy Kurtz, APR, CPRC, Fellow PRSA, this will not be a deep dive into the myriad of details inherent in launching your own indie practice (you’ll want to attend our monthly IPA Business Building webinar series for that). It will be an "executive summary" discussion to give you a broad overview of the many things you’ll need to consider before, during -- and even after -- you “Make the Leap.” It will also give you a chance to meet the leadership of IPA and network with fellow IPA members.
Hosted by the Independent Practitioners Alliance. Paid registration for non-IPA Section members includes the live webinar and video playback for one month.
