At PRSA, we recognize that moments of uncertainty—like the current government shutdown—can create real financial and personal stress for many of our members and their families. We want you to know that we see you, we support you, and we’re here to help ensure your access to PRSA’s professional community, resources, and network remains uninterrupted.

If your membership renewal is due this month or next and you’ve been affected by the shutdown, please contact us directly. We will work with you to ensure your membership is not dropped during this time.

Additionally, PRSA offers several ongoing programs that may help ease financial challenges and provide career support:

  • Hardship Program – Available to members experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Quarterly Payment Plan – Allows you to spread membership dues across four payments throughout the year.
  • PRSA Jobcenter – A resource for exploring new opportunities and staying connected to the profession.

Importantly, ICON 2025 and all associated programming remain on schedule and have not been impacted by the shutdown. Like the city of Washington, D.C., PRSA is moving forward with confidence and purpose—continuing to bring members together for an inspiring, educational, and forward-looking experience this October. For more information regarding our nation’s capital, visit the “D.C. is Open” site.

We encourage all members to share these resources with colleagues who may benefit from them. PRSA’s strength has always been our community—one that stands together, especially in times of need.

If you have been affected, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Member Services team at membership@prsa.org.

Together, we’ll get through this.

Warm regards,
Matt Marcial, CAE, CMP
