In response to news reports associated with the termination of an FDA spokesperson and PR consultant related to misinformation addressing convalescent plasma therapy, T. Garland Stansell, APR, PRSA’s 2020 Chair, issued the following statement.

A mentor and leader in health care public relations, she was honored by the PRSA Health Academy as the recipient of the 2020 Excellence in Public Relations Award.

They join more than 350 senior professionals and educators, each of whom has left a significant footprint on the public relations profession.

Delegates of the membership will vote on the nominees and any petitioning candidates at the annual PRSA Leadership Assembly scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5.

PRSA announced two additional keynote speakers to be featured at ICON 2020. Laurie Garrett and Nina Jankowicz join previously announced speakers Jon Meacham, Carolynn Johnson and Lata Nott.

This marks the 10th school in the state of Michigan to be affiliated with PRSSA.
