2016 Letter from the Chair
I am honored to serve as PRSA College of Fellows Chair for 2016. I look forward to collaborating with our outstanding Executive Committee, our members, and the PRSA Board and professional staff to advance the College’s work.
The College of Fellows recognizes and honors outstanding members of the Society with 20 years or more in the profession who have significantly advanced the public relations field. We provide leadership and support for PRSA through continued service to the Society in many ways.
If you know of a colleague who should consider applying to the College of Fellows, or if you are yourself interested, please feel free to contact me or any Fellow. The Fellows site on prsa.org contains a number of tools to help you get started, and we have a committed group we call the GoodFellows that volunteers to provide individual counsel to all applicants as they work through the application process.
The College of Fellows is in the midst of our three-year strategic plan in concert with PRSA’s strategic plan. Mentoring is the “calling card” of the College and Fellows provide it to active and aspiring professionals at all career stages. We will continue our partnership with the educators’ community to conduct additional Learning to Teach sessions to prepare members considering transition to a teaching career. As in years past, Fellows will also create and sponsor a Master Class during the 2016 International Conference Oct. 23-25 in Indianapolis, and I welcome your suggestions on topics or speakers.
On the evening of Oct. 22nd, at the PRSA International Conference, we will recognize and induct the College of Fellows Class of 2016 in a formal celebration of excellence and service. Here’s to a great year!
Philip Tate, APR, Fellow PRSA
2016 Chair, PRSA College of Fellows
