PRSA has unveiled the short list for the 2023 Anvil Awards, which recognize and honor the best communications programs planned and executed each year.

In total, PRSA received entries across 74 categories, including submissions from leading brands, agencies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and universities. The 118 finalists were from agencies including Edelman, FleishmanHillard, Ketchum, Ruder Finn and Padilla, and such iconic brands as AT&T, H&R Block, Honeywell, L.L. Bean and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This year’s ceremony, which will include the presentation of both the Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil Awards as well as the “Best of” Silver Anvil Award, takes place on June 8 at Edison Ballroom in New York City’s Theater District.

For over 75 years, the Anvil Awards have been considered the benchmark of high performance in public relations. PRSSA Welcomes 2 New Chapters

PRSSA will establish new Chapters at Nevada State College and Niagara University.

Seseer Mou-Danha, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication, will serve as faculty adviser at Nevada State, and Joseph Sirianni, associate professor of communications and media studies, will hold the same role at Niagara University.

“I look forward to the events, conferences, competitions, access to experts and practitioners in the field, internships and scholarships — to mention a few — that students at Nevada State will have access to,” said Mou-Danha. “I am especially glad that our students, who are future PR professionals, will be even better equipped to enter the industry.”

“I’m very excited to have a PRSSA chapter at Niagara,” Sirianni said. “Prior to this, our students established a public relations club, which served them well, but being part of something bigger and more prestigious will be much more beneficial to them.”

PRSSA is represented globally on nearly 380 campuses, including in the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico.
