PRSSA Adds 2 New Chapters

PRSSA has added Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y., and the University of Mississippi to its network of Chapters worldwide.

Under the guidance of experienced faculty advisers — and in coordination with local PRSA Chapters in Rochester, N.Y. and Memphis, Tenn. — the students will have opportunities to further their education, gain valuable career advice and experience, as well as access a variety of monetary scholarships.

“We’re thrilled to be able to expand our PRSSA footprint in New York and Mississippi,” said PRSA CEO Linda Thomas Brooks. “Preparing the next generation of leaders is a hallmark of PRSSA and we look forward to working with these students to ensure they are ready to succeed in their future endeavors.”

Raymond A. Martino will serve as faculty adviser to the Nazareth College PRSSA Chapter. Martino, a longtime PRSA member, was a PR practitioner for more than four decades before joining the Nazareth College faculty.

Dr. Amanda Bradshaw, assistant professor of integrated marketing communications, is the faculty adviser to the University of Mississippi PRSSA Chapter. She earned a doctorate in mass communication from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Alabama.

With these two additions, PRSSA has added a total of five new Chapters in 2021.

Update Your Profile in Find a Firm

Have you signed up yet to participate in Find a Firm, the valuable search tool on PRSA’s website

This past summer, PRSA launched the tool to help users identify and shortlist PR and communications agencies, professionals and service providers with the expertise that matches their needs.

Powered by CommunicationsMatch, a leading search and services technology platform, the directory allows people to find practitioners based on industry and communications capabilities, size, location, designations, diversity, client experience and more. In addition, they have the option to use the integrated Agency Select hiring tools to request information or issue RFPs.

PRSA members enjoy discounts on agency or professional profiles.

To make sure clients can find you or fellow PRSA members can recommend you, take these two simple steps. First, if you haven’t already developed one, click the Create a Profile button. Second, in the box labeled Organization/Designation in your profile, make sure that you’ve selected PRSA, your Section membership and/or your APR credential.
