Oakley Weddle is a driven individual excited to serve as the VP of Chapter Development on the PRSSA National Committee this year while pursuing his graduate studies in Journalism and Strategic Media at The University of Memphis.

In addition to being on PRSSA National Committee, Oakley serves as the Conference Coordinator for ICON 2023, after his University won the bid to host the conference.

Oakley founded The PEYitforward Foundation in memory of his late brother, Peyton, with a mission to promote kindness, support the unhoused community in Memphis, and fund scholarships at The University of Memphis.

With his extensive experience in both professional and nonprofit settings, as well as his academic achievements, Oakley is well-prepared to take on the important role of VP of Chapter Development for PRSSA. Oakley is a recipient of the University Presidential Award for his research on the media's impact on the criminal justice system, and was also recognized as a Memphis Flyer 20 under 30 honoree. While serving as VP of Chapter Development, he hopes to continue his legacy of growth and revitalization, creating a brighter, kinder, and more diverse future for PRSSA. Oakley is excited to contribute his skills and expertise to the organization and looks forward to working collaboratively with members to achieve their goals.
